CUSTOMER CASE STUDY
Climate control solutions for data centres in cold climates – a four-year ongoing contract
In one of our data centre construction projects, we have, over a period of four years, supplied climate control solutions capable of withstanding extreme cold, large air volumes and very high operational reliability requirements. The project, located in the far north of the country, has placed unique demands on technical precision and durability.
The challenge
The halls are sensitive environments where both temperature and air flow must be maintained within tight limits. In this project, the complexity was compounded by:
Enormous areas that required consistent and controlled climate control
Very cold weather for much of the year
High standards of operational reliability are required to maintain the correct temperature in the halls
Limited tolerance for variations in air volume and humidity
Managing high airflows and ensuring consistent operation in a cold climate was a technical challenge that required robust and highly reliable heat pumps.
The solution
We installed and operated heat pump-based climate control systems designed to cope with large volumes and cold weather conditions.
The solution included, amongst other things:
High-performance heat pumps optimised for low outdoor temperatures
Stable air circulation to ensure an even temperature distribution throughout all areas
Continuous operation and monitoring
An efficient and scalable installation that followed the project’s phases over several years
The heat pumps demonstrated excellent performance from the outset, even during the coldest periods of winter.
The result
After the first year, the client was so satisfied with both the functionality and the service that they extended the contract for a further year. Further extensions followed – and today the partnership has been ongoing for a total of four years.
The project has clearly shown that:
Heat pumps work very well even in very cold climates
Large volumes of air can be handled in a stable and energy-efficient manner
The systems deliver reliable operation over time – even in extreme weather conditions
The customer feels that the solution has exceeded their expectations
These long-term contract extensions are a strong testament to the quality of our systems and our ability to meet the high standards required by data centres.
